Beginning with our November 2011 issue, we will upload a digital version about 30 days after the printed version is published and distributed. What a great CAI Austin CARES! Day at Capital Area Food Bank of Texas!
Posted 11/10/11 Special thank you to the three dozen chapter members and guest who helped process over 10,000 lbs of food that will provide for more that 8,400 meals for our neighbors in need, all in just 3 hours - what a terrific response!! And thanks to Jay Jayasuriya for photographing us inspecting and sorting hundreds of boxes of donated food and clothing items. You can see Jay's pics here >>

CAI Updates Public Policies
Posted 11/9/11 To guide CAI’s advocacy efforts, CAI’s Government & Public Affairs Committee (G&PA Committee) has worked to develop public policy positions on key issue areas that affect CAI members. These policy statements reflect the public policy preferences of CAI on key issues and guide CAI volunteer advocates and staff in their advocacy efforts. CAI’s over 30,000 members participate actively in the public policy process through more than 60 local, regional and state chapters and 33 state Legislative Action Committees.Several policies have been reviewed and updated by the Board of Trustees. The Travis Co Water Availabilty Rules Proposal is now available.
Posted 8/13/11 Groundwater can help supply water to Travis County’s growing population. However, given the known groundwater problems in some areas and the high growth rates projected for the coming years, Travis County’s aquifers are not a good long-term source of water. Posted 3/16/11 Beginning immediately, 1-year Community Association Volunteer Leader (CAVL) Membership Scholarships are available for non-member homeowners, condominium owners and property owners from self-managed (i.e. having no professional community manager hired) associations in the greater Austin area. Austin Chapter Sweeps Awards at CAI National Conference in Las Vegas!
Posted 5/10/2010. Our Austin Chapter was honored by being recognized in all five performance categories for small chapters (less than 250 members). In addition, the chapter was honored with one of two "Rising Star" awards recognizing Austin's Chapter Executive Director (CED) for his leadership abilities and professional contributions.
