Austin Receives Four National Awards

Chapter Achievement and Excellence in Growth, Management & Development, Membership, and Member Services 2008

May 28, 2009 Barton Creek Resort and Spa – 100 members and guest gathered for a luncheon celebration of the Austin Chapter’s 25th anniversary, and to applaud the chapter’s achievements in 2008. Kevin Cavanaugh (right), member of CAI’s Board of Trustees, and Christi Keller (right, below), member of CAI’s Association of Professional Community Managers Board of Directors presented a total of four annual awards, a landmark not only for Austin but for any chapter of its size across the Nation.

Austin grew 59% last year, a performance unsurpassed by any of CAI’s 58 chapters worldwide. The chapter was also recognized for merit in three additional fundamental performance areas compared with other chapters of its size. These included excellence in Chapter Programs, Financial Management, and the success of its 1st Annual Trade Show. In presenting the awards, Ms. Keller and Mr. Cavanaugh commented on how proud they both were of the chapter and its leadership to have attained this level of performance last year, and wished them every success moving their programs forward in the current year.

The awards were announced at the CAI National Conference in New Orleans on April 24th, and each was presented to Bill Brooks, CAI Austin President Elect, and Joe Dunst, CED, by CAI CEO Tom Skiba.
